Police Constable Died in Clashes During PTI Protests, Punjab Govt Blames Party Leadership
Lahore: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari on Monday accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of attempting to orchestrate a “May 9 Part-II” in the country. She claimed that the party’s actions during recent protests led to violent clashes, resulting in the death of a police constable.
Speaking at an urgently convened press conference, Bokhari alleged that Bushra Bibi, the wife of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, was directly involved in inciting violence during the demonstrations.
The minister strongly criticized PTI’s leadership for what she described as their repeated attempts to destabilize the country through unrest and lawlessness. “This is not the first time PTI has resorted to such tactics, and it is clear they are following a deliberate agenda,” Bokhari said.
The government has stepped up its rhetoric against PTI following recent protests, which have been marred by clashes with law enforcement and reports of damage to public property. The situation remains tense as authorities continue to respond to the escalating confrontation.
