Security Forces Eliminate 30 Terrorists in South Waziristan Operation
ISLAMABAD: At least 30 terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in South Waziristan’s Sararogha area, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed on Tuesday.
According to the ISPR statement, the operation was launched on February 17, 2025, following reports of terrorist presence in the region. Security forces effectively engaged the militants, resulting in the elimination of 30 terrorists.
A sanitisation operation is ongoing to ensure no remaining threats exist in the area. The statement reiterated that security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism from the country.
Recent Clashes in North Waziristan
This development follows an operation in North Waziristan’s Miran Shah last week, where six terrorists were neutralised. However, the Pakistan Army lost four soldiers, including Lieutenant Muhammad Hassaan Arshaf, who led his troops bravely and embraced martyrdom alongside Naib Subedar Muhammad Bilal, Sepoy Farhat Ullah, and Sepoy Himat Khan.
Rising Security Threats
Pakistan has faced a surge in terrorist attacks targeting law enforcement and security forces, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, following the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan in 2021. The military continues to take decisive action to counter the growing threat and ensure national security.
