JUI Leader Wounded in South Waziristan Mosque Blast
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) district Amir Maulana Abdullah Nadeem was injured in a blast that occurred inside a mosque in South Waziristan’s Azam Warsak area, police officials reported.
Several others were also wounded in the explosion, which took place on Friday. The injured JUI leader was rushed to Wana Civil Hospital for treatment.
The attack comes amid a surge in terrorist activities across the country. In a separate tragic incident, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Samiul Haq (JUI-S) chief Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq was among three individuals martyred in a powerful suicide blast at Darul Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed, the suicide bombing targeted Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq following Friday prayers. The blast, confirmed by the chief secretary and IG, caused devastation inside the seminary.
Authorities have launched investigations into both incidents as concerns grow over the increasing wave of terrorism in the region.
