Pregnant Woman Brutally Murdered by In-Laws in Daska, Punjab
In a horrifying incident, a seven-month pregnant woman was murdered by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law in Kotli Marlan village, Daska, Punjab. The victim, 26-year-old Zehra, was dismembered and her remains were dumped in a canal in a bid to conceal the crime.
According to police reports, the mother-in-law, Sughra Bibi, along with her daughter Yasmeen, committed the gruesome act. They severed Zehra’s limbs and burned her head to prevent identification. Later, Sughra transported the remains in bags to a canal under the cover of darkness, while spreading false rumors that Zehra had run away with someone.
Zehra, a mother of one, was married to Qadeer from Kotli Marlan four years ago. Her husband, who works abroad, has yet to be reached by authorities.
The police have arrested Sughra Bibi, Yasmeen, and their accomplice, Abdullah, and registered a murder case after recovering Zehra’s body. Anchorperson Maria Memon commended the police for their swift action in solving the case.
This incident follows another shocking case in Muzaffargarh, where a woman named Samina Bibi was allegedly burned to death by her in-laws in Basti Bulaili, Tehsil Jatoi. The perpetrators reportedly poured petrol over her and set her on fire after severe torture.
Both cases have sparked outrage across Pakistan, raising concerns over the rising instances of domestic violence and the need for stronger legal protections for women.
