Companies worldwide faced major disruptions on Friday due to an outage of Microsoft’s cloud computing services. The incident grounded flights, halted news broadcasts, and impeded operations in brokerage firms.

The outage affected several countries including Australia, the US, the UK, and India, impacting various institutions such as banks, media houses, stock markets, government agencies, and airports.

DownDetector, a real-time internet outage monitoring website, reported widespread issues with Microsoft services, including the Azure cloud computing platform and Microsoft 365 office software. In the US alone, 1,751 outages were recorded.

In Pakistan, there were 25 outages reported for Microsoft Azure and 13 for Microsoft 365.
