CTD Arrests Two Terrorists in Karachi for Funding TTP
The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) anti-terrorism financing unit arrested two terrorists in Karachi on Friday for funding the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), ARY News reported.
The operation took place in Karachi’s Jhanjal Goth area, leading to the apprehension of two terrorists linked to the banned TTP Hafiz Gul Bahadur group.
DIG CTD Asif Ijaz stated that the suspects were in contact with TTP leaders in Afghanistan via social media and were involved in collecting funds for the group.
The arrested individuals, identified as Abu and Yaqub Mehsud, hail from Waziristan. They had recently returned to Karachi to conduct a funding operation and were found with a significant amount of money.
