Bomb Threats Disrupt Over 40 Schools in Delhi, Prompt Evacuations
At least 40 schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Monday, demanding $30,000, according to ANI news agency.
Police teams were dispatched to conduct thorough searches of the school premises, although no suspicious items have been reported so far.
The threatening emails followed a similar pattern to previous hoaxes in the region.
Two schools received the emails late Sunday night, warning that multiple bombs had been planted in their buildings and would be detonated if the ransom was not paid.
By Monday morning, several other schools had received similar emails, prompting authorities to alert parents and send students home as a precaution.
Parents were seen arriving at schools to pick up their children, while police teams combed the premises for any signs of explosives.
Authorities have yet to confirm the source of the threats or their authenticity.
