Professor Murdered in Multan as Husband Orchestrates Deadly Plot Over Second Marriage Dispute
Multan — In a harrowing case of gender-based violence, a woman professor, Feroza Jameel, was brutally murdered in Multan by a hired killer after refusing to grant her husband permission to marry a second time.
Police revealed that the husband arranged the murder for Rs1.5 million, hiring a shooter and attempting to disguise the crime as a robbery. The incident unfolded while the couple, accompanied by their child, was traveling in their car. The hired gunman intercepted them and fatally shot Professor Jameel.
An investigation led to the arrest of the husband, the shooter, and two accomplices. According to police, the husband had paid Rs200,000 upfront and promised the remaining Rs1.3 million after the crime.
This tragic incident highlights the alarming prevalence of gender-based violence in Pakistan, where societal and cultural norms often endanger women’s safety.
