Faisal Vawda Claims Ex-ISI Chief Faiz Hameed Submitted Evidence Against Imran Khan
Independent Senator Faisal Vawda has alleged that former Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed has provided critical evidence, including electronic devices, against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Speaking on ARY News’ program Khabar, Vawda stated, “The troubles for the PTI founder and his associates are going to increase as Faiz Hameed has handed over crucial evidence, including devices, against them.”
Vawda suggested that the trial of Faiz Hameed has undermined PTI’s calls for civil disobedience. “If Faiz Hameed’s trial had not taken place, Imran Khan, his wife, and associates would not have faced these challenges,” he remarked.
The former federal minister speculated that Imran Khan might even face a military trial and noted that investigations into Faiz Hameed for other alleged offenses are ongoing.
Vawda further claimed that PTI is planning a new social media campaign aimed at garnering public sympathy. According to him, the campaign would use imagery and narratives from conflict zones, such as Syria, to portray Pakistanis as victims.
The senator urged the government to engage in dialogue with PTI to resolve political tensions. He criticized the ruling party’s leader, Nawaz Sharif, for not initiating discussions while acknowledging Imran Khan’s apparent willingness to negotiate.
Earlier, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif accused both Imran Khan and Faiz Hameed of being partners in orchestrating key political maneuvers.
The unfolding allegations highlight the deepening political and legal crisis surrounding the PTI founder, who faces increasing scrutiny following the May 9 riots and the ongoing trials of his associates.
