Rickshaw Driver Allegedly Stabs Passenger to Death Over Rs100 Fare Dispute in Attock

ATTOCK: In a shocking incident, a rickshaw driver allegedly stabbed a passenger to death and critically injured his father over a Rs100 fare dispute in the Awan Sharif area on Tuesday, police said.

According to police and eyewitness accounts, Mohammad Munir and his son, Kashif Munir, had hired the rickshaw from the general bus stand to the Awan Sharif locality. Upon reaching their destination, a disagreement erupted when the driver demanded more than the agreed fare.

The argument escalated, and the rickshaw driver, along with an accomplice, attacked the passengers with a dagger. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Both victims were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital, where Kashif succumbed to his injuries. Mohammad Munir remains in critical condition.

The deceased’s body was handed over to his family for burial following an autopsy.

Attock police have registered a case against the rickshaw driver and his accomplice and have initiated a manhunt to apprehend the suspects.
