Lahore University Student Gang-Raped, Filmed, and Blackmailed: Police

A female MPhil student at a government university in Lahore was allegedly gang-raped and filmed by three men, police reported on Tuesday.

According to authorities, the victim was lured to a location in Muslim Town by one of the suspects, who befriended her via a social networking app and promised marriage. The suspect then took her to a private housing society for breakfast, where he, along with two accomplices, sexually assaulted her and filmed the crime.

The first information report (FIR) states that the suspects also stole two cheques from the victim’s sister’s chequebook, which she was carrying in her handbag. They threatened to upload the videos online if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

Police have registered a case based on the victim’s complaint and initiated an investigation. Officials have assured swift action to apprehend the suspects.

Similar Case Reported in Mardan

In another incident, Mardan police registered a case of rape against five employees of a government hospital and arrested one of the accused last week.

The incident involved a 32-year-old woman from Dubai Adda who visited the hospital for treatment. According to sources, five hospital employees allegedly assaulted her. Two suspects have been identified as Aziz and Zakir, while efforts to identify the remaining accused are underway.

The victim has recorded her statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code in the court of a judicial magistrate.

These incidents have sparked outrage and raised concerns about the safety of women across the country, with demands for justice and stricter measures to prevent such crimes.
