Security Forces Kill Afghan National Linked to Terrorism in Zhob

Quetta: Security forces neutralised an Afghan national linked to terrorism during an operation in Balochistan’s Zhob district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

The ISPR statement identified the suspect as Muhammad Khan Ahmedkhel, son of Haji Qasim Dawran Khan, a resident of Bilorai village in Wazekhwa district, Paktika Province, Afghanistan.

Ahmedkhel was killed in the Sambaza area of Zhob on January 11, 2025. After completing procedural formalities, his body was handed over to Afghan officials on Monday.

Evidence of Cross-Border Terrorism

The military’s media wing emphasized the incident as “irrefutable evidence” of Afghan nationals’ involvement in terrorism inside Pakistan.

The ISPR called on the interim Afghan government to meet its international obligations by denying terrorists the use of Afghan soil to conduct attacks against Pakistan.

Rising Tensions

This operation underscores growing concerns about cross-border terrorism and its impact on regional stability. Islamabad has repeatedly urged Kabul to take concrete steps to prevent Afghan soil from being used for militant activities targeting Pakistan.
