Security Forces Thwart Infiltration Attempt Along Pakistan-Afghanistan Border, Kill Five Militants
Zhob: Pakistan’s security forces successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, eliminating five militants in the Sambaza area of Zhob district last night, according to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The forces detected the movement of a group of militants, referred to as “khwarij,” attempting to cross into Pakistan. Acting swiftly, the troops engaged the infiltrators, effectively neutralizing the threat.
Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Interim Afghan Government to implement effective border management measures on their side and to prevent the use of Afghan territory by militants for attacks against Pakistan. Authorities expect Kabul to honor its obligations in this regard.
“Security forces remain resolute in securing Pakistan’s borders and eliminating terrorism from the country,” the ISPR emphasized in its statement.
Eight Militants Killed in Earlier Operations
Earlier this week, security forces conducted two intelligence-based operations in the Tank and Khyber districts, killing a total of eight militants.
In Tank, an operation targeting the reported presence of militants resulted in the elimination of six. In a separate encounter in the Tirah Valley of Khyber District, security forces neutralized two militants.
The successful operations highlight Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining regional stability.
