Ali Amin Gandapur, Barrister Gohar Confirm Rare Meeting with Army Chief in Peshawar
In a significant political development, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar revealed on Thursday that he, along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir.
Speaking to journalists at the Adiala Jail courtroom, Gohar confirmed the meeting, which he had previously denied. He disclosed that all of PTI’s concerns and demands were directly communicated to the army chief, describing the talks as a constructive step toward resolving the ongoing political crisis.
“I and Ali Amin Gandapur held discussions with COAS Munir, where we outlined PTI’s priorities and raised critical issues,” Gohar stated.
PTI founder Imran Khan also verified the meeting, noting that the party had been pushing for direct negotiations with the establishment. Sources indicated that Gohar was transported to Peshawar via helicopter for the meeting, which coincided with COAS Munir’s visit to the city.
During his visit, General Munir reportedly met with key provincial political leaders, emphasizing the importance of stability in the state, remarking, “If there is a state, there is politics. God forbid, without a state, there is nothing.”
