Haris Rauf Named ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November 2024
Dubai: Pakistan’s star pacer Haris Rauf has been awarded the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for November 2024, following his exceptional performances that played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s historic ODI series win against Australia.
Rauf, 31, delivered a stunning display of pace bowling throughout the tour, claiming 10 wickets across three ODIs to secure Pakistan’s first series victory in Australia in 22 years. He finished the month with an impressive tally of 18 wickets, beating India’s Jasprit Bumrah and South Africa’s Marco Jansen to clinch the prestigious award.
Dominance in Australia
The highlight of Rauf’s month came in the second ODI in Adelaide. With Pakistan trailing 1-0 in the series, the pacer dismantled the Australian batting lineup with fiery bowling, returning figures of 5/29. His second career five-wicket haul in ODIs helped Pakistan bowl out the hosts for just 163 and secure a commanding nine-wicket win to level the series.
Rauf followed up with another strong performance in the decider, where he picked up two crucial wickets and was named Player of the Series as Pakistan sealed the series 2-1.
Consistency in T20Is and Zimbabwe
Rauf continued his fine form in the three T20Is against Australia, grabbing five wickets, including a four-wicket haul in Sydney—his fourth in T20Is.
Later in November, during Pakistan’s ODI series in Zimbabwe, Rauf added three more wickets to his tally, helping his side overturn a series deficit to win 2-1.
Rauf’s remarkable achievements in November not only underline his growing stature as one of the world’s premier fast bowlers but also showcase his ability to deliver in high-stakes matches.
