London Police Close Investigation into Alleged Attack on Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s Vehicle
The City of London Police has closed its investigation into the alleged attack on the vehicle of former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice (retired) Qazi Faez Isa, citing insufficient evidence, ARY News reported.
According to sources, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) declined to pursue the case in court, stating that the evidence presented would not meet the legal threshold for securing a conviction. Officials from the Pakistan High Commission and the City of London Police confirmed that the investigation had been concluded due to a lack of prosecutable evidence.
Incident Details
The incident reportedly occurred when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists attempted to obstruct Justice Isa’s vehicle, which belonged to the Pakistan High Commission in London. Witnesses claim the activists tried to smash the car’s windows and chanted slogans as they ran alongside the vehicle.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the attack, calling it an unacceptable act. He directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to take immediate steps to identify the individuals involved in the incident.
The Pakistan High Commission in London had lodged a formal complaint regarding the attack, though it did not name any specific individuals.
