Two Soldiers Martyred, Eight Terrorists Killed in KP Operations: ISPR
In a series of counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two Pakistan Army personnel, including a captain, embraced martyrdom, while eight militants were killed, according to a statement from the military’s media affairs wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Sunday.
The ISPR reported that the operations, conducted between November 29 and December 1, were intelligence-based and targeted known terrorist hideouts in the province.
Operation in Bannu
The first operation took place in the Baka Khel area of Bannu District, where security forces launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) to eliminate militants. During the operation, five terrorists were killed, and nine others were injured as security forces effectively engaged their position.
Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain, 29, embraced martyrdom during the intense exchange of fire, displaying exceptional courage in the line of duty, the ISPR noted.
Operation in Khyber
In another operation in the Shagai area of Khyber District, security forces neutralized three terrorists and captured two others. Leading the troops from the front, Captain Muhammad Zohaib Ud Din, 25, fought valiantly but made the ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom.
Militants’ Activities
According to the ISPR, the killed and captured terrorists were involved in multiple attacks on security forces and civilians.
Ongoing Efforts
The military’s media wing stated that follow-up sanitization operations are underway to ensure the complete elimination of terrorist elements in the region.
“These sacrifices of our brave soldiers strengthen our resolve to eradicate the menace of terrorism and restore peace to the country,” the ISPR said.
Such operations reflect the armed forces’ commitment to maintaining security and countering threats in Pakistan.
