Indian Girl Arrested in AJK for Crossing LoC Illegally to Marry Local Boy

Police in Forward Kahuta, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), have arrested a young woman from Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) for illegally entering AJK without a visa. The woman, identified as Fatima, reportedly crossed the Line of Control (LoC) on November 24, driven by the promise of marriage.

According to police, Fatima reached Poonch district and was staying at the home of a local man, Imran, with whom she had been in contact. Acting on reports of her presence, authorities conducted a raid at a house in Kearney Village, took her into custody, and registered a First Information Report (FIR).

Preliminary investigations reveal that Imran, who works abroad with Fatima’s brother, encouraged her to cross the LoC and come to AJK. Fatima reportedly stated that the two had been communicating over the phone, leading to her decision to enter AJK to marry Imran.

Police have also detained Imran, accusing him of inciting Fatima to cross the LoC and marry against her family’s wishes.

Meanwhile, Imran’s family has approached the local magistrate, seeking the couple’s release and defending their relationship. The case has drawn attention to the legal and diplomatic challenges associated with cross-border personal relationships in the sensitive LoC region.

Further investigations are underway to determine the next course of action for both individuals.
