Seven Terrorists Killed in Operations Across KP and Balochistan
Security forces have killed seven terrorists in separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, according to a statement from the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Four terrorists were neutralized during an intelligence-based operation in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation, conducted early Friday, also left two other terrorists injured. Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the site. The ISPR stated that the terrorists were actively involved in attacks on security forces and the targeted killing of civilians. A sanitization operation is ongoing in the area to ensure no further threats remain.
The Bannu operation came shortly after a suicide attack in the same district claimed the lives of 12 security personnel. In the aftermath, six terrorists were killed during engagements with security forces.
In Balochistan, security forces eliminated three terrorists in separate engagements between November 20 and 24. Two of the militants, identified as high-value targets Niaz alias Ghuman and Zareef alias Shah Jahan, were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Awaran district following an intense gunfight. Another terrorist was killed in Dera Bugti district during a separate operation. In Kech district, security forces conducted another intelligence-based operation, neutralizing one more militant.
The ISPR noted that the eliminated terrorists were involved in various attacks targeting security forces and civilians and were wanted by law enforcement agencies. Security forces are continuing operations to ensure peace and stability in Balochistan, reaffirming their resolve to thwart attempts to destabilize the region.
The country has witnessed an uptick in terror attacks, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, putting additional strain on security forces as they strive to combat the rising threats.
