Two Suicide Bombers Arrested in Balochistan as Security Forces Foil Attack Plans
Security forces in Balochistan have arrested two suicide bombers in a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs).
Conducted across various areas in the province, these operations thwarted planned attacks on security forces and foreign nationals in Karachi.
During these targeted actions, authorities detained the mastermind behind a planned suicide attack on Chinese engineers near a traffic signal at Karachi Airport. The suspect was apprehended in Windar, a town in Balochistan. Additionally, four other suspects were arrested at various locations as part of the extensive IBOs.
The arrests follow a deadly bombing at Quetta’s railway station on Saturday, which left at least 26 dead and over 40 injured, including women and children. Commissioner Quetta, Hamza Shafqaat, confirmed that the blast occurred at Platform 1 around 8:25 a.m., coinciding with the departure time of the Jaffar Express.
Railway officials reported that two trains, the Chaman Passenger and the Jaffar Express, were scheduled to depart from Quetta, bound for Chaman and Peshawar, respectively. The platform was crowded with passengers for both trains when the blast took place.
