ECP Summons Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan in Key Cases
Islamabad – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan to appear in separate cases.
Nawaz Sharif has been directed to attend a hearing regarding his petition to disqualify Adil Bazai, who was elected as an independent candidate from NA-262 (Quetta) and later listed on the National Assembly’s website as a PML-N member. In his reference to the ECP, Nawaz Sharif claims Bazai has become a dissident and requests that he be de-seated.
Despite his listing as a PML-N member, Bazai has consistently denied affiliation with the party on social media, asserting his independence.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan has been called to appear in an ongoing contempt case.
The ECP is set to hold a hearing on Nawaz Sharif’s reference regarding Bazai on November 5.
