Karachi Court Acquits Natasha Danish in Karsaz Traffic Accident Case Following Settlement

A sessions court in Karachi on Thursday acquitted Natasha Danish, accused in the Karsaz traffic accident case, after she reached an out-of-court settlement with the victims’ family.

Natasha was initially booked and arrested for reckless driving, resulting in the deaths of a man and his daughter on August 19. The court had previously granted her bail against a Rs100,000 surety.

The sessions judge also granted bail to Danish Iqbal, Natasha’s husband, who was implicated as a secondary party in the case.

A copy of the affidavit reveals the victims’ family expressed forgiveness in the name of Allah, stating, “We have reached a settlement and have forgiven the accused.”

Background on the Incident

The accident occurred on August 19, when Natasha allegedly lost control of her SUV, colliding with multiple vehicles on Karsaz Road. The collision resulted in the deaths of 26-year-old Aamna and her father, 60-year-old Imran Arif. Another victim injured in the crash remains in critical condition.

Further complicating the case, a police report revealed that Natasha was under the influence of methamphetamine, commonly known as crystal meth, at the time of the incident. The FIR stated that she was driving from her home in DHA Scheme-I to her in-laws’ residence, a short 3-4 kilometer distance, when the crash occurred.
