Another Group of Palestinian Students Arrives in Pakistan to Continue Medical Studies

Islamabad—A new group of Palestinian students arrived in Pakistan on Friday to continue their medical and dental education, following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s offer to support students affected by the ongoing crisis in Gaza.

Dr. Mukhtar, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Health, welcomed the students at Islamabad International Airport. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Mukhtar assured that the students would receive the best possible facilities, including food and accommodation, during their stay in Pakistan. He emphasized that Pakistan stands with the people of Palestine during these difficult times and will provide full support to the students in continuing their education, which has been disrupted by the devastation in Gaza.

This group is part of a larger initiative to help 192 Palestinian medical and dental students from Gaza. The first batch of 27 students arrived in Lahore on October 14, where they were received with strict security arrangements and moved to a local hotel.

The students’ departure was facilitated by the Embassy of Pakistan in Cairo and representatives of the Al-Khidmat Foundation, who coordinated their journey from Cairo International Airport to Pakistan. This initiative follows the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s (PMDC) approval of special permission for these students to complete their studies in various medical institutions across the country.

The initiative is seen as a crucial step to support the educational needs of Palestinian students, many of whom have been unable to continue their studies due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza.
