Sajid Khan Makes History with 7-Wicket Haul in Multan Test Against England

Multan, Thursday: Pakistan off-spinner Sajid Khan made history in the second Test against England at the Multan Cricket Stadium, taking 7 wickets and breaking a 24-year-old record previously held by legendary off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq. Sajid’s remarkable performance helped Pakistan dismiss England for 291, giving the hosts a 75-run first-innings lead.

The 31-year-old off-spinner claimed 7 wickets for 111 runs in 26.2 overs, marking his second five-wicket haul. His performance made him the first Pakistani off-spinner to take five or more wickets on home soil since Saqlain Mushtaq’s 2000 feat at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

England resumed their third-day innings at 239-6, with Jamie Smith (12*) and Brydon Carse (2*) at the crease. However, England’s lower order crumbled quickly as Sajid Khan removed Carse early on, followed by the dismissal of Matthew Potts (6). Left-arm spinner Noman Ali contributed by dismissing Jamie Smith, who managed to score 21 runs.

England’s tailender Jack Leach remained unbeaten with a crucial knock of 25 runs, sharing a 29-run partnership with Shoaib Bashir (9), before Sajid wrapped up the innings.

Sajid finished with an outstanding 7-111, while Noman Ali supported with figures of 3-101.
