Sindh Police Arrest Suspected RAW Operative in Karachi, Recover Weapons and Fake IDs
KARACHI: In a recent operation, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Sindh Police apprehended a suspect allegedly linked to India’s intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), from Karachi’s Mauripur area.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shoaib Memon, the suspect, identified as Muhammad Saleem, was arrested near Fish Chowrangi on Manora Road. Saleem is believed to be an operative for RAW and was found in possession of a hand grenade, a bomb, a launcher, a pistol, and service cards from various departments.
Authorities also recovered multiple passports and identity cards under different aliases, which Saleem allegedly used to evade detection by security agencies. Maps of key locations, including Manora and Chinaport, were also seized from his possession.
Initial investigations revealed that Saleem had traveled between Pakistan and India several times via Nepal, using the falsified documents. Based on the evidence, including the illegal weapons and anti-Pakistan materials found in his possession, three cases have been registered against him.
Further inquiries are underway to determine the full scope of the suspect’s activities and any potential links to other espionage networks.
This arrest raises concerns about cross-border espionage and may heighten tensions between Pakistan and India.
