Imran Khan Denied Family and Lawyer Visits in Jail as Security Tightens
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been prohibited from meeting his family, lawyers, and party leaders at Adiala Jail, where he is currently incarcerated, according to ARY News, which cited sources.
Jail authorities have reportedly imposed the ban citing security concerns. Sources revealed that the Punjab government has enforced the restriction until October 18, and it applies to other prisoners at the jail as well.
In related developments, security agencies have intensified their investigations, resulting in the arrest of six additional members of the jail staff, including three women, for allegedly assisting the PTI leader. Those detained include a sweeper, two female wardens, and three CCTV monitoring personnel, sources said.
Officials also confiscated mobile phones from the arrested staff, with sources claiming that the female employees were relaying messages between Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, and him.
Additionally, former Adiala Jail Deputy Superintendent Zafar Iqbal, who had been arrested on August 13 over allegations of aiding Khan while in detention, was recently released after questioning.
