PSX Hits Historic Milestone as KSE-100 Index Surpasses 83,000 Points
The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reached a record-breaking milestone as the KSE-100 Index surged past the 83,000-point mark for the first time in history. The index closed at an all-time high of 83,531 points, gaining 810 points in a single trading session. During the day, the index briefly touched a peak of 83,605 points.
Investor activity was strong, with 370 million shares traded, valued at approximately PKR 20 billion. Shares of 201 companies saw gains, while 167 experienced declines, and 76 remained unchanged.
This rally follows a bullish trend from the previous day, where the KSE-100 Index gained 754.76 points, closing at 82,721.77. Despite a slight decrease in trading volume to 319 million shares, the market’s value increased to PKR 16.41 billion from PKR 15.39 billion on the previous trading day.
Out of 448 companies that traded shares, 207 recorded gains, 185 posted losses, and 56 remained unchanged, highlighting the overall positive momentum in the market.
