Renowned Islamic Scholar Dr. Zakir Naik Arrives in Islamabad for 15-Day Visit
Islamabad – Dr. Zakir Naik, a prominent Islamic scholar, arrived in Islamabad on Monday for a 15-day visit at the invitation of the Pakistani government. He was warmly received at Islamabad International Airport by officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, including Syed Dr. Atta ur Rehman. Other notable figures present to welcome him included Rana Mashood and Parliamentary Secretary for Religious Affairs, Shamsher Ali Mazari.
Dr. Zakir Naik, along with Sheikh Faruk Naik, is scheduled to deliver lectures and address gatherings in several major cities, including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. According to the planned itinerary:
- Karachi: October 5-6
- Lahore: October 12-13
- Islamabad: October 19-20
This visit marks a significant occasion for Dr. Naik, who had previously expressed his desire to come to Pakistan during a podcast with a well-known Pakistani YouTuber. Although he had planned to visit the country in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic delayed his trip.
In the podcast, Dr. Naik was asked why he chose Malaysia over Pakistan after leaving India. He explained that while it would have been easy for him to settle in Pakistan due to his familiarity and support there, he followed an Islamic principle that advises accepting smaller losses to prevent greater harm.
