Sindh CM Orders Transition to Digital System for Provincial Administration
Karachi – In a bid to modernize provincial administration, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has directed all departments to transition to a digital governance system. The decision was taken during a recent session on e-governance chaired by the CM.
The IT secretary informed the meeting that a comprehensive e-governance system would be developed and presented to the CM for approval. This digital framework will integrate the Deputy Commissioner (DC) offices across Sindh, streamlining administrative processes and improving service delivery.
The Sukkur DC office has already been digitized, and its progress is being closely monitored as a model for other districts. CM Murad Ali Shah emphasized the importance of using technology for good governance, ensuring transparency and accountability.
This initiative aligns with the CM’s vision to transform Sindh into a digitally empowered province. By leveraging technology, the provincial government aims to enhance public services, reduce bureaucratic delays, and foster economic growth.
Key features of the e-governance system include:
- Digital Infrastructure: Establishing a robust digital framework to support online services and administrative tasks.
- Process Automation: Reducing paperwork by automating manual processes to increase efficiency and minimize errors.
- Transparency and Accountability: Implementing tools to ensure accountability in governance.
- Citizen Engagement: Creating online platforms to enable citizen participation, feedback, and engagement in governance.
The initiative is part of the broader effort to improve governance and service delivery across Sindh.
