PTI Loses Sindh Assembly Seat to PPP After Vote Recount
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has lost a seat previously won in the February 8 general elections following a recount.
PTI’s Sarbuland Khan, who was initially declared the winner, has been defeated by Asif Moosa of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in Sindh Assembly constituency PS-112.
The recount, conducted by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), confirmed that PPP’s Asif Moosa secured the seat with 11,724 votes, surpassing Khan, who received 9,943 votes.
Originally, Sarbuland Khan was declared the winner with 16,287 votes, while Asif Moosa had received 10,784 votes.
Following the ECP’s notification, Asif Moosa has officially taken his oath as a member of the Sindh Assembly.
