The World Youth Scrabble Championships were first held in Wollongong, Australia, in 2006, and since then, players from over 20 countries, including Australia, India, Kenya, Malaysia, the United States, and many more, have competed annually. The WYSC is open to anyone under the age of 18, with the tournament previously hosted in countries such as Malaysia, Australia, Dubai, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and the United Kingdom.
Affan Salman’s victory has not only brought pride to Pakistan but also reinforced the country’s reputation as a powerhouse in the world of competitive youth scrabble.
