Haider Ali Wins Bronze in Men’s Discus Throw F37 Event
Pakistan’s para-athlete Haider Ali secured a bronze medal in the Men’s Discus Throw F37 event on Friday with an impressive throw of 52.54m on his sixth and final attempt. This marks Ali’s best throw of the season and his fourth Paralympic medal.
Ali started the event with a solid throw of 52.28m but missed his next four attempts. His final throw of 52.54m secured the bronze.
Uzbekistan’s Tolibboy Yuldashev claimed the gold with a remarkable throw of 57.28m, while Jesse Zesseu of Canada took the silver with a throw of 53.24m.
Haider Ali is no stranger to success, having previously won gold at the Tokyo Paralympics, alongside bronze medals in Beijing and Rio, and a silver in 2008. He had already qualified for the 2024 Paris Paralympics after a 51.23m throw at the 2022 Asian Para Games.
