Federal Government Announces Public Holiday for Eid Milad-un-Nabi on September 17
The federal government has declared a public holiday across the country on September 17, in observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The Cabinet Division issued an official notification confirming that all schools, colleges, and government, semi-government, and private offices will remain closed on this occasion.
The announcement follows the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s meeting, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, in Islamabad. The committee confirmed that the 12th of Rabiul Awwal will fall on Tuesday, September 17, after the moon for the Islamic month was not sighted on Wednesday.
Eid Milad-un-Nabi is observed by Muslims around the world to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
