Islamabad Court Issues Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant for KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur in Arms, Liquor Case
A Sessions Court in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with an arms and liquor recovery case. The court, presided over by Judge Shaista Khan Kundi, dismissed Gandapur’s request for exemption from appearing in court on medical grounds.
The court has ordered the Station House Officer (SHO) of Bhara Kahu police station to arrest Gandapur and ensure his presence before the court by tomorrow.
This development follows an earlier summons issued by the court, requiring Gandapur to answer nine questions related to the case. The District and Sessions Judge had directed him to appear in person.
The case dates back to October 30, 2016, when police claimed to have recovered weapons and liquor from Gandapur’s vehicle during a routine search at a check post on Rukhsana Bangash Road. Gandapur was reportedly en route to Imran Khan’s residence in Bani Gala when the search took place.
Among the items allegedly recovered from the vehicle were four Kalashnikov rifles, ammunition, a tear-gas launcher, and bulletproof vests. The recovered weapons were displayed at the Bhara Kahu police station in Islamabad.
The case has now gained renewed attention with the court’s latest orders, potentially setting the stage for further legal proceedings.
