PM Shehbaz Sharif Attributes Inflation Drop to Government Efforts
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Tuesday that Pakistan’s annual inflation rate has decreased to 9.6% in August, marking the first single-digit inflation figure in nearly three years. He emphasized that this achievement was not accidental but rather the result of deliberate efforts by his government.
Taking to his X timeline, the Prime Minister highlighted the significance of this development, stating, “Pakistan’s annual inflation rate has dropped to 9.6% in August, the first single-digit figure in nearly 3 years according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. This is not an accident! These are results.”
He further emphasized that his administration’s primary focus has been on providing relief to the common man. However, he acknowledged that while progress has been made, there is still much work to be done to address the country’s economic challenges. “Our work is not done, and a lot more needs to be done, but we are making real progress,” he remarked.
