Two Pregnant Women Die After Ambulance Gets Stuck in Mud in Thatta

Two pregnant women tragically lost their lives when the ambulance transporting them to a hospital became stuck in the mud following heavy rains in Sindh’s Thatta district.

The ambulance was en route to a hospital in Mirpur Sakro when it became immobilized on a muddy road. Despite the driver’s efforts to free the vehicle, both women died before they could receive medical attention.

The identities of the deceased women have not yet been confirmed.

The incident occurred after districts Sujawal and Thatta experienced moderate to heavy rainfall last week. The heavy downpours severely affected several union councils in Taluka Jati, Sujawal district, including Kothi, Karmalak, Gul Muhammad Baran, and Mugerbeen, cutting off road connectivity in remote areas like Taluka Jati and Shahbunder.

Local sources indicated that the failure of authorities to clear outfall drains in time led to overflow and reverse flow during the rainfall, exacerbating the situation and leaving villages isolated.
