PTI’s Sher Afzal Marwat Released After Brief Detention by Islamabad Police
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat was released on Thursday after being briefly detained by Islamabad police, local media outlet ARY News reported.
A large police contingent detained Marwat and several other party workers as they arrived in Tarnol for a scheduled rally.
Earlier in the day, PTI announced the postponement of the Islamabad power show, which was planned to take place in Tarnol.
The decision followed the Islamabad administration’s cancellation of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the public gathering. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed the postponement, stating it was done on the direction of party founder Imran Khan.
