Tragic School Van Attack in Punjab’s Attock District Leaves Two Children Dead, Five Injured
In a devastating incident on Thursday morning in Punjab’s Attock district, at least two children were killed, and five others were injured when unidentified gunmen attacked a school van in the Dheri Kot area.
According to police reports, the attackers opened fire on the van, killing two children aged between 10 and 12. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack, leaving the injured and deceased behind.
Rescue teams from Rescue 1122 Punjab quickly responded to the emergency, transporting the victims to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed profound sorrow over the tragic incident and has demanded an immediate report from the Commissioner of Rawalpindi. She also instructed the authorities to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care.
The incident has drawn widespread condemnation. President Asif Zardari denounced the attack, calling it a “cruel and shameful act” targeting innocent children. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the violence, describing the attack as “extremely cruel and barbaric.”
