Two Suspects Arrested in Faisalabad Gang Rape Case
FAISALABAD: Police on Saturday arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the gang rape of a woman in Painsra town, Faisalabad. The victim, a resident of Lahore, had traveled to Faisalabad to meet a friend named Muhammad Waseem, according to officials.
An officer from the Thekriwala police station reported that a First Information Report (FIR) had been registered, and a search operation for the remaining suspects is ongoing. The FIR details that the victim visited Waseem on the evening of August 14 in Painsra, where an argument ensued between them, prompting Waseem to leave her alone.
The victim stated in the FIR that she later went to Waseem’s house, requesting him to escort her to the bus station. However, after failing to find a bus, they returned to Painsra Chowk, where they argued again. Waseem then called a friend, Abdul Raheem, asking for temporary accommodation until a bus arrived.
The situation took a dark turn when Imran alias Mani, along with three to four accomplices, allegedly entered Abdul Raheem’s house. According to the victim, the group assaulted Waseem, tying him up in a separate room before gang-raping her. She also reported that the suspects seized their mobile phones.
The victim suspects that Abdul Raheem and Waseem may have been complicit in the crime. She has called for all involved to be brought to justice. As of now, two of the suspects have been apprehended, and efforts to locate the others continue.
