PPP MNA Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman Appeals to COAS Asim Munir to Address Dacoit Menace in Sindh
Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman, spiritual leader of the Sarwari Jamaat and a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir to intervene in combating the rising dacoit menace in Sindh.
Speaking at an Independence Day ceremony in Matiari, Zaman expressed deep concern over what he described as a state of “dacoit raj” (rule of bandits) in upper Sindh, where residents face severe restrictions on their freedom of movement due to the presence of armed criminals.
The PPP MNA, representing the NA-216 Matiari constituency, criticized the Sindh government for its ineffectiveness in addressing the crime issue and its apparent inability to control the activities of the Katcha dacoits.
“I urge you, [Army Chief], to take decisive action,” Zaman said, emphasizing the need for military involvement. He appealed to COAS Asim Munir to visit Sindh personally to address the problem, citing the provincial government’s failures in tackling the dacoit threat.
Zaman acknowledged the sacrifices made by the armed forces for the country’s security and stability, underscoring the critical role they play in maintaining order.
