Pakistan to Amend Passport Rules, Allowing Issuance from Any City
In a significant move, the Pakistani government has decided to amend the rules for issuing and renewing passports. The Interior Ministry has submitted a summary to the federal cabinet, proposing these changes.
The summary outlines that, once approved, passports can be issued to citizens from any city nationwide. It also mentions that passport fees for all categories can be paid at any branch of the National Bank.
Ministry of Interior sources indicated that the rules will be amended after the cabinet’s approval. The updated process for obtaining a passport will resemble that of acquiring a national identity card.
