UK Police Arrest Man Who Dyed Hair to Evade Capture After Racially Abusing Muslim Bus Driver

London, UK – Police in the United Kingdom have arrested a man who dyed his hair in a failed attempt to avoid arrest after racially abusing a Muslim bus driver in the London Borough of Hillingdon.

A disturbing video of the incident, showing the man—who originally had gray hair—spitting at the driver, banging on the driver’s cabin, and hurling racist abuse, was widely circulated on social media. The video was also shared by a former police officer, drawing significant public attention.

Scotland Yard confirmed on Friday that officers believe the footage was recorded earlier this week at a bus stop on Coldharbour Lane in Hayes.

The Metropolitan Police’s Roads and Transport Policing Command launched an immediate investigation into the incident and condemned such behavior in the capital.

A spokeswoman for the force stated, “Roads and Transport Command detectives worked closely with local officers to conduct an urgent investigation following this incident. Despite altering his appearance by dying his hair, a suspect was identified and has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault by beating.”

Rosie Trew, Transport for London’s (TfL) Head of Bus Service Delivery, expressed shock at the incident, saying, “We are shocked and appalled to see this video of abuse towards one of our colleagues. We will not tolerate this behavior.”

The incident follows UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s ongoing crackdown on far-right rioters and recent demonstrations by anti-racism protesters.
