CM Balochistan Announces Free Passports for Citizens, Unveils Digital Arms License System

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti announced on Thursday that citizens across the province will now receive passports free of charge. Speaking at the launch of the computerized arms license system in Quetta, CM Bugti revealed that the provincial government has signed an agreement with the passport office to cover passport fees for the convenience of the public.

“The government will pay the passport fee on behalf of the citizens,” CM Bugti stated. He further elaborated that residents of Chaman will benefit from this initiative, with the government covering the Rs 16,000 cost required for digital passports under the one-document system.

Highlighting the role of technology in governance, CM Bugti emphasized that the digital arms license system will soon be implemented throughout Balochistan, enhancing administrative efficiency.

During his address, CM Bugti also touched upon the recent flooding in the province, announcing that an emergency has been declared in four districts of Balochistan. He dispelled misconceptions regarding Dera Bugti, asserting that it has never been a no-go area.
