PTI Leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid Hospitalized After Health Deteriorates
Lahore: Senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Dr. Yasmin Rashid, has been transferred to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in Lahore after her health worsened, as reported by Geo News.
Dr. Rashid, currently on judicial remand at Kot Lakhpat Jail, has been facing health issues. Her lawyer, Advocate Rana Mudassar, stated that despite repeated court orders to provide timely medical care, she did not receive adequate attention, leading to a decline in her condition.
Dr. Rashid, who previously served as Punjab’s Health Minister, is now undergoing specific tests at the hospital, including assessments for cancer. Sources within Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital revealed that she is also experiencing breathing difficulties and will have further medical examinations at a government hospital.
This incident follows a similar health scare in May when Dr. Rashid collapsed and was subsequently moved to Lahore’s Services Hospital. The 72-year-old PTI leader has been incarcerated for over a year, facing multiple charges related to the protests and riots that erupted nationwide on May 9, 2023, following the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan.
