TLP Vice Emir Pir Zaheerul Hasan Shah Arrested for Inciting Violence Against Chief Justice
Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Vice Emir Pir Zaheerul Hasan Shah has been arrested after going into hiding in Okara. The arrest follows his booking for inciting violence against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, as confirmed by sources to Geo News on Monday.
Shah was taken into custody after a case was filed against him for making inflammatory remarks during a protest rally outside the Lahore Press Club. The rally was held in opposition to the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Mubarak Sani case.
The First Information Report (FIR) was registered at Lahore’s Qila Gujjar Singh police station on behalf of Station House Officer (SHO) Hammad Hussain. The FIR accuses the TLP leader and approximately 1,500 party workers of issuing death threats against the chief justice.
The charges against Shah include provisions under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and offenses related to spreading religious hatred, inciting anarchy, pressuring and threatening the judiciary, interfering in state affairs, and obstructing the performance of legal duties.
