ECP Notifies 39 MNAs as PTI Lawmakers Following Supreme Court Ruling

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) officially recognized 39 Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) as PTI lawmakers on Thursday, in accordance with a recent Supreme Court ruling regarding reserved seats.

The decision was finalized during a session presided over by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja. The ECP had resolved last week to adhere to the Supreme Court’s directive, leading to today’s announcement.

In its previous meeting, the ECP noted that these 39 MNAs had explicitly declared their affiliation with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in their nomination papers. This formal notification aligns with the legal requirements set forth by the apex court, ensuring that the designated seats are filled by PTI representatives.
